I finished a set in Volks and was chatting to this guy at the bar.

He came to Brighton for BIMM, and I asked if he knew this promoter or this events group.

He didn't know anyone.

I thought it was strange that he came to a music uni but didn't know anything about the music scene here.

Something was wrong. Accessibility needed upgraded. Connectivity was weak. People are missing out.

WHY THIS EXISTS

Everything in this industry still runs on who you already know.

I watched a promoter spend three weeks trying to find one label in another city — a label that would have said yes on the first message. There’s no directory for this. If you’re a DJ, a producer, a venue or a crew, your reach stops at your contacts, and every scene outside your own might as well be behind a wall. That’s not culture protecting itself, it’s just infrastructure nobody built. So we’re building it: music only, every scene and every city in one place, made by people who are out on a Friday.
